Whois Privacy Protection
Whois Privacy Protection is rather helpful in case you'd like to protect your personal information. Read more about its major advantages.
In accordance with the policies approved by ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, the contact information a domain is registered with must be correct and accurate at all times. Moreover, this info is openly available on WHOIS sites and while this may be okay for firms, it may not be very acceptable for individuals, because everybody can see their names and their personal street and email addresses, particularly in times when identity fraud is not that unusual. That is the reason why registrar companies have introduced a service that hides the details of their customers without modifying them. The service is referred to as Whois Privacy Protection. If it is active, people will see the details of the registrar company, not those of the domain owner, if they do a WHOIS search. The Whois Privacy Protection service is supported by all generic top-level domain name extensions, but it’s still not possible to conceal your information with some country-code ones.

Whois Privacy Protection in Shared Web Hosting
If you’ve ordered a Linux shared web hosting from us and you have registered one or more domain names under your account, you will be able to enable Whois Privacy Protection for any of them without difficulty and to keep your personal details intact. Of course, this can be done only with the TLD extensions that support this option. In your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you will notice an “Whois Privacy Protection” sign to the right of each of your domain names. Its colour will inform you whether a domain is Whois Privacy Protected or not and in the second case, you can enable Whois Privacy Protection with just a couple of clicks. Thus, you can protect your personal info even if you haven’t added the service during the web hosting account order process. You’ll be able to renew or to deactivate the Whois Privacy Protection service for any of your domains just as easily.
- Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
In case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us and you register a domain under it, you can activate our Whois Privacy Protection service without difficulty. This requires only several clicks in the Registered Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel, through which you administer everything associated with your semi-dedicated web hosting account. This is where you can see all your registered domain names and for each one of them you will see an “Whois Privacy Protection” icon, using which you can activate, renew or deactivate the Whois Privacy Protection service. Of course, this will be possible only with generic and country-specific domain extensions that support this option and you will be able to see this beforehand, so that you won’t end up buying a service that we cannot provide. - Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
